🌱 Case Studies 🌱

Bok Choy Experiment

We conducted an experiment on Bok Choy / Pak Choy (Chinese Cabbage) from seed germination to harvest, to evaluate the effects of Nurture Growth Biofertilizer on seed germination and overall plant development.

To carry out this assessment, we divided the seeds into two distinct groups. One group was soaked in distilled water, serving as the control (photo on the left), while the other group was immersed in a biofertilizer solution (photo on the right). Each group consisted of four replications, with 10 seeds per replication.

After soaking, the seeds were carefully placed on paper towels, covered to maintain moisture, and stored in Ziplock bags to create a controlled environment. We monitored the germination of the seeds and transferred them to small pots after 3 days (6 plants per pot). Plant growth in the small pots was observed, and once they reached a sufficient size, they were transferred to larger pots after 20 days to allow for further root and shoot development.

Throughout the growing period, the plants were treated with a weekly 1% Nurture Growth Biofertilizer spray to assess its impact on growth. The plants were harvested 33 days after being transferred to the larger pots, marking the completion of the experiment.

During the initial observation period, there was no significant visible difference between the treated and non-treated replicates. At the time of harvesting, we measured plant height, leaf count and plant weight. The average values from 10 plants per replication showed that treated plants produced more leaves per plant compared to the untreated control plants.

Specifically, the control plants had an average of 7.8 leaves, while the treated plants averaged 9.1 leaves, representing a 17% increase. Additionally, the treated plants exhibited significantly higher weight, with an average of 27 grams compared to 21.2 grams in the control plants—a 27% increase. Notably, enhanced root development and a darker soil color were observed in the biofertilizer-treated pots, further highlighting the potential benefits of using Nurture Growth.

This research suggests that Nurture Growth Biofertilizer significantly enhances both plant and root growth (shown below as the plant on the right), highlighting its potential benefits for Bok Choy cultivation.
